The psychology department is headed by a Spanish volunteer, Angela Huergo, who has been working for Pan y Amor Association for almost four years. She works three to four mornings a week at the school, cooperating with the social workers as well as helping the teachers to plan and improve their teaching skills.
In 2009, Alvaro Otero Sáenz, the young psychologist who worked as Director for the welfare protection home the last five years, will be joining Angela. Together they will be working on programs to help the children at school. He will still remain involved wih the boy’s from the boarding home, offering them extra support over the weekends they spend at the boarding school.
